The love affair between food and movies began at the dawn of cinematic history!

The Top 5 most famous dishes in Movies!

The love affair between food and movies began at the dawn of cinematic history!

The Auguste and Louis Lumière brothers offered an essay of this in the film "Le Repas de Bébé" (Baby's Dinner) of 1895.
Charlie Chaplin burst into a funny sandwich dance in the silent movie "The Gold Rush" of 1925, and the story continues in the movies and television series of today.

In short, cuisine is among the protagonists of the "seventh art", Italian and international, from Federico Fellini to Francis Ford Coppola, from spaghetti western to animation films.
The list of celebrated dishes is as long as the richest wedding menu. Here are our top 5!

Courtesan au Chocolat!

They are the specialty of Mendl's bakery in Zubrowka, an imaginary little town inspired by Görlitz (Czech Republic) where Wes Anderson set his "Grand Budapest Hotel" in 2014. The author of chocolate icing pastries is Agatha, the woman loved by Zero Moustafa (Tony Revolori and F. Murray Abraham), co-star of the film with Monsieur Gustave H. (Ralph Fiennes). Needless to say the aesthetics are wonderful, including boxes with a decidedly hipster flavor.
The bakery scenes were shot in a nineteenth-century creamery called Pfunds Molkerei in Dresden.

It is thanks to a hot gazpacho that the Chef of haute cuisine Shayn Weiss (Birol Ünel) ends up in a restaurant fit for a nightmare!
We are at the "Soul Kitchen" on the outskirts of Hamburg and in the film by the same name directed by Fatih Akın in 2009.
The chef will refuse to warm the Andalusian specialty, a raw vegetable soup that is strictly served cold, and this means he will join not just a restaurant but the whole world of Zinos Kazantsakis (Adam Bousdoukos) and his brother Illias Kazantsakis (Moritz Bleibtreu).
For the preparation you can rely on Almodovar’s ironic approach in "Women on the verge of a nervous breakdown" or follow our recipe!

A famous Provencal vegetable dish, the Ratatouille is the comfort food that will break the heart of harsh gourmet critic Anton Ego ... but only if the one who prepares it is Rémy the mouse, aided by his friend Alfredo Linguini.
We are in the feature film by Pixar "Ratatouille", directed in 2007 by Brad Bird and Jan Pinkava. A sweet and thought-proviking animation film that demonstrates how simple ingredients - onions, eggplant, tomatoes, zucchini - can give you great emotions and recall distant memories.

Crème brûlée!

Among Amélie Poulain’s (Audrey Tautou) passions is that of breaking the crust with the spoon, before sinking it into the traditional French creamy dessert. Milk, cream, egg, sugar and vanilla.
A recipe with no frills, like the heroine of "Amélie", written and directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet in 2001. Amélie loves to dip her fingers in sacks filled with beans, passes her time bouncing stones on the Saint-Martin canal or with her cat Rodrigue when she is not working at the “Café des 2 Moulins.”
This place exists and is located at 15 Rue Lepic in Montmartre, in the 18th arrondissement in Paris.

Amatriciana style pasta – one of the most favorite in the world – is present in many movies.
Among the funniest, “A Taxi Driver in New York” by Alberto Sordi playing a taxi driver from Rome, Pietro Marchetti (1987).
To attend his son's graduation, he leaves for New York accompanied by his wife, Teresa (Anna Longhi), who - among the "indispensable" - packs all the ingredients into a suitcase to prepare a great Amatriciana. Fortunately, also the customs officer is a lover of the recipe!
We offer a vegan version!
